The mid-mod talk today really hammered home what I've long suspected. Namely, that the appropriate model for papers and lectures is more or less, "Assertion. Also, if you think about it, [opposite of] assertion."
Sweet, nothing is ever true, and self-contradiction is a plus. I can roll with that.

man, i think i'm losing my brain. for real. i really wanted to go to that talk--i've been planning on it since i first heard of it. i even knew that yesterday was friday, may 9th, but i did not at any point remember that the talk was friday, may 9th, despite having been drilling the date into my head for the last month. (into my own head?)
also, i keep trying to put k's at the beginning of words that start with n.
Yeah, that'll happen. Losing your brain, that is. Don't worry, the talk was boring. It made me lose some more of what little brain I have left.
